Challenge
There is a noticeable shortage of readily accessible emergency supplies for managing opioid overdoses and traumatic injuries in public spaces. This deficiency underscores a significant shortfall in national emergency preparedness, hindering potential rescuers and emphasizing the pressing necessity to enhance the provision of lifesaving equipment in public areas. Addressing this issue is crucial to improving survival outcomes during emergencies.
Solution
In partnership with Loft, Sora has developed intuitive, non-intimidating branding and designs for its stations, which feature a QR code linking to pre-event instructions. This allows individuals to familiarize themselves with emergency protocols in advance. Inside, clear, step-by-step instructions enhance the efficacy and readiness of responses. Utilizing advanced IoT technology, Sora transforms spaces into well-equipped lifesaving stations, significantly reducing the time from emergency onset to intervention, thereby saving lives and reducing injuries. The design strategy deliberately avoids traditional emergency colors, making the equipment less alienating.
Outcome
The Sora System offers a comprehensive collection of high-quality educational materials and resources on opioid overdose, traumatic hemorrhage, and other medical emergencies, organized by content duration for efficient preparation. This system enhances the use of lifesaving supplies in Sora containers, which direct users to pre-event instructions for familiarization with emergency procedures. This preparatory step is vital, especially given the current shortage of accessible emergency resources in public spaces, posing a significant challenge to national emergency preparedness. Addressing this gap is crucial for improving first-response effectiveness and survival rates in emergencies.

Empower the First Responder in All of Us
Sora containers offer a dual-layered informational system to boost emergency response readiness. Equipped with QR codes, they enable proactive learning of emergency procedures, ensuring responders are well-prepared. Additionally, just-in-time instructions inside provide clear, immediate guidance, significantly enhancing the effectiveness of on-the-spot support during crises.
