Challenge

Loft embarked on a challenge to design an interface for non-programmers to configure AI to self-serve their needs. The platform has to simplify the experience of using advanced algorithms that rely on domain-specific knowledge (for example pharmaceutical development) and linguistic rules. Users in highly regulated industries are typically familiar with how to write the technical documents but are less familiar with the detailed rules of the specific syntax to generate the report they need.

Solution

Loft relied on on-going customer research and specific service design methodology to identify common user roles that would fit the regulatory framework and customized the experience for each of these users. We then created user-specific workflows to offer the right functions available at the right time for each. The Loft team then combined a understanding of UX design principles with domain expertise in data modeling to simplify the data mapping process.

Outcome

Loft and Yseop co-created a comprehensive, award-winning web-based SaaS platform for NLG that offers an easy and fast process to configure and generate reports. Through an iterative design process and cross-functional collaboration with the Yseop technical and business teams, Loft was able to transform the software that used to be custom-designed for each pharmaceutical company into a universal, self-service platform that can be deployed by Yseop customers with minimal effort.
